Description

Flat, wooden Katsina cradle doll. The face is painted green with inverted "V" lines in red, black and yellow above the protruding, tube mouth. Feathers and yarn are attached to the top of the head and to the ears. The back of the head has two clouds painted. The body is painted white and red. This figure is the Kau-a (or Qoia) Katsina, borrowed from the Navajo. (Colton, H. 1959 #135, Wright, B., 1973 #178)
