Description | Oval food dish. Boat-shaped: bottom flat; sides curved and flaring; ends slightly concave outside, slanting outward and rising to high curve at rim. Narrow parallel grooves run lengthwise inside; end fluting terminated by cross grooves. Cross grooves decorate rim. Three encircling grooves outside just below rim. One end is pieced by gumming and nailing. Very fine, slanting, short chisel marks outside on sides and bottom. |
