Description | Complete but for a few chips. One side very worn. Wheelmade. Hollow inside. Base flares in 2 degrees. Body basically cylindrical; on lower part 3 spaced tori of decreasing size, near top one large torus. Body is surmounted by small shallow cup with broad flat rim. Brown-black with added orange-red geometric/curvilinear decoration in horizontal registers of varying width. Includes vine-leaf pattern derived from West Slope ware on middle body, and lotus pattern on interior top. Medium heavy fabric. Fairly fine clay with bits and fine mica, fired drab-buff. |
