Description | Musical instrument. Carved elephant tusk, pointed end is carved to resemble a blade with three raised bands below it. "Mouthpiece" carved into tusk. Wide end is open and hollow. Piece has a deep rich brown patina that gets lighter toward the open end. There is also a round hole cut into one side and two incomplete or damaged holes near the open end. Cracks in body with sights of some possible old repair. Black stand to display trumpet included. |
