Description | Globular body with flat base; tulip neck; two vertical loop handles on body. Plain. Narrow-necked jar/bottle with a globular body, bulging neck, rounded rim, 2 strap handles on the body, and a flat base. There are no molded/modeled additions and no decoration. There appears to be a smoothed finish on the exterior and a smoothed finish on the interior. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is orange in color. There are striations visible on the exterior surface. Evidence of usewear includes residues/staining on the exterior. There are reddish and dark brown stains on the exterior surface. The catalogue number is written on the bottom of the base and black ink on the bottom of the base reads: "1623f." |
