Description

Paper. Kakemono. Buddhist sect founder with scenes from his life in narrow horizontal panels. Figure of the saint seated on lotus stand is shown lower center, above is a wide column of writing, his epistle to his followers. (S. note) - Original painting in the Chionin Temple, Kyoto. Panels on painting are separated with bright blue and green lines; hanging is of new green silk; framing lines of red, buff and gold.
