Description | Orientalizing cup/Amphora; fine tan impasto 2-handled cup/amphora with lentoid body; see also: 74-28-1, 74-28-3. Wheelmade, intact. Base an irregular flattening, slightly concave underneath. Body low, wide, sharply carinated with two opposed sharpened warts at carination; shoulder short, sloping. Neck wide, short, contracting toward slightly flaring, sharpened plain lip. Each handle is a twisted roll with small loop lying on lip and two plain attachments at outer shoulder. Fabric fairly fine, hand-burnished, fired brown to dark brown. |
