Description | White cotton gauze like weave with bands of open work, stylized birds animals and composite geometric forms interspaced between bands of openwork, navy cotton thread, three breadths of cloth. As per Sigrid Meier, "Warp: 30 epi, 2 singles, Z twist, white cotton. Weft: 24 ppi, 2 singles, Z twist, white cotton. Basket weave alternating with bands of gauze weave. Supplemental weft: two faced. 3 panels: central panel - 4 selvedges, side panels - 3 selvedges each. Made on a backstrap loom." |
