Description | Ash; square bottom with round top; plaited; checkerboard with all splints same size; bottom more loosely done than sides; some of horizontal splints on side show evidence of dark dye. Rim: bound with heavy carved hoop. Cover: round, made with verticals radiating from center, double and come to a raised point in middle; two bands of narrow horizontals. Two corners of basket missing and cover is fragmentary. |
