Description | Turnip-shaped with a swollen neck incised and punctate design. Narrow-necked jar/bottle with an ovate body, bulging neck, missing rim, 2 strap handles on the body, and a rounded base. No molded/modeled additions. The vessel has geometric designs in incised lines and punctate dots decorating the neck. There appears to be a smoothed finish on the exterior. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is orange in color. There are striations from smoothing tool on the exterior. The catalogue number is written on the bottom of the base and black ink on the bottom of the base reads: "677." |
