Description

Ansated rectangular wood board on which a Muslim child is first taught the alphabet. This he learns from the letters (in this case Persian - Nesta'liq) written theroeon by the teacher; thirty-two letters, in black ink, read pen was used. These Persian letters form the Urdu script in which the Indian Muslim writes Hindustani.
