Description | Body somewhat flattened and covered with nodules; long cylindrical neck and two loop handles shoulder to neck. Red clay bottle necked jar representing a fruit. Slight marking in white Narrow-necked jar/bottle with an effigy-fruit shaped body, cylindrical neck, flattened rim, 2 strap handles extending from the neck to the body, and a missing base. No molded/modeled additions. The vessel is covered in raised dots and is painted with white lines delineating parts of vessel. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is orange in color. Scraping and smoothing of the join is visible on the interior. The catalogue number is written on the object in black ink on the interior. Black ink on the interior of vessel reads: "2778." |
