Description

Red ware. Bladder-shaped bottle with head at closed end and horizontal handle to neck at opposite apex.

Narrow-necked jar/bottle with a globular body, missing neck, missing rim, 1 bridge handle extending from the neck to the body, and a rounded base. The vessel has a modeled and incised head on one side of the pot. There appears to be a burnished finish on the exterior. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is orange in color. Fireclouding is present on the body. The catalogue number is written on the object in black ink on the bottom of the base. Black ink on the bottom of the base reads: "2709."
