Description | Convex pyxis. Wide conical ring foot; depressed spherical body with freestanding rim; two high loop handles. Buff ware, buff slip. Dark brown painted decoration: neck and upper part of shoulder completely covered with paint; ray pattern on lower part of shoulder. Central frieze: alternating inverted lotus and bud, with crossing connecting loops; bands of paint above and below it. Base ring entirely covered with paint. |
