Description | A buckskin shield with the Sun (Tawa) Katsina painted on the face. The Katsina has slit eyes and an inverted triangle mouth both in black on a white background. The forehead is divided down the middle with the proper left side being green with a black and yellow border and the right side being yellow with a black and red border. The shield has a border of corn husks folded into a pattern simulating rays. A wooden frame holds it together on the back and plant fiber cords are attached. |
