Description | Long wooden spatula; base is rectangular; ridged on both front and back; thin cylindrical handle; top end of stirrer is similiar to base, yet is square in shape and much shorter, ridged as well. Like most agricultural people of this region they eat more vegetables than meat. A great part of their food consists of a sort of gruel or porridge made from manioc (cassava) meal which requires a great deal of stirring while it is being boiled. |
