Description | Annular bases; flat-side flask bodies, tapering neck on one, seated human figure on other; horizontal loop handles. Black Narrow-necked jar/bottle with a double-chambered body with flat-sided cylindrical (drum-like) chambers, tapered neck, rounded rim, 1 bridge handle extending from the neck to the body, and a ring base/foot base. There is a molded/modeled seated figure sitting on top of the chamber opposite the neck. There appears to be a burnished finish on the exterior. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing and reducing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is gray and orange in color. The catalogue number is written on the object in black ink on the bottom of the base. Black ink on the bottom of the base reads: "1812." |
