Description | Ivory, in the round or high relief; fragment of a lion showing part of muzzle, teeth, and some of mane. Muscarella Publication: "Fragment of the body of a lion. Extant are only part of the upper lip and muzzle decorated with drilled dots, and at the other end a small section that preserves a neat triangular tuft pattern. The interior of the fragment is concave. A dowel hole exists in the rear section, which slopes toward a smoothed rim. Perhaps this object was a handle." |
