Description

Rim sherd from a deep pot (深鉢). Rim curves and comes to a point. Cord marking, incised markings and smoothed areas appear in bands separate1d by incised lines and applied nodules. Thicker at rim. Very dark in color. The elaborate rim projections and surface decoration are reminiscent of the fanciful vessels of the Middle Jomon Period.
