Description | Splints of spruce? Twilled plaiting pro-ducing diagonal patterns; bottom is plain checkerboard. Two bands around body of basket of dyed(?) brown root or grass; two lines in each band, wrapped around each splint. Bottom has a red band of same and top, underneath edge, has another reddish band with material caught inside splint loops and brought over edge to bind the splints in place. |
