Description

For construction and ornament compare the first two Telei spears in Frizzi, Baessler-Archiv, Sup. VI (1914), Fig. 64, and see p. 42, op. cit. The whole shaft behind the bulge is encased in basketwork tubing. For the barbing, compare 29-89-173 and 29-89-174. Upper group of barbs, 7 tiers; lower, 5 tiers. For incised figures, cf. 29-89-174. In this case the "knees" are not under the chin, but at the side. The space under the chin contains a black boss. The bulge of plant fibres has been blackened.
