Description

Two reddish-colored wood paddle shaped pieces of wood. Paddles have a movable joint at the end of the handle. The two handles are held together with round bamboo braiding. The paddles themselves are pear shaped with the interior side of each carved out to form a casing for the parts of the scale: a thin, ivory/bone? ruler, a round metal tray, a tiny weight and strings attaching these objects to each other.
