Description

Mended and plastered to complete. Flaring ring base profiled on outer edge. Body wide ovoid, neck cylindrical, rim everted, vertically flattened on lip. A sharp ridge stands on interior top of lip. Two double rolled vertical handles out from high on neck, sharply elbowed and straight down to outer shoulder. Gouged decoration on neck. 3 chevron bands on shoulders, spaced radial strips and 2 bands zigzag. Plastic decoration; flat studs on handles. Raised lump each side bases of handles. Sturdy fabric of fine although badly cleaned clay. Roughly finished on wheel, then given thin green virtuous glaze over all (now worn or weathered off on lower body).
