Description

Texts (ต้นฉบับ) for Su Khwan (สู่ขวัญ) and Sia Khro (เสียเคราะห์) rituals, used to bring good fortune to the sponsor of the ritual and to heal someone suffering from pain or illness. It is written in Lao with some words in Pali (Tua Tham or old Lao - อักษรธรรมอีสาน). The manuscript is incomplete and the palm leaves on which it is written are in fragile condition. Written in 3-5 lines. Written on palm leaves threaded through one hole left of center. Written in a northern Thai village (Ban Chieng Kreua?) in the early 19th century. It was formerly owned by the grandfather of Mr. Bua Wichiankhruea (บัว วิเชียนเครือ). It was donated by a Mr. Bua Wichiankhruea (บัว วิเชียนเครือ). It has a tag giving the buyer permission to take the manuscript out of the Kingdom of Thailand (printed tag accompanying manuscript).
