Description | Male figure, standing, arms at sides, on round base. Black, red, white pigment, clay molded over forehead and crown of head, in which four large cowrie shells and several small nassa shells are inlaid. Cassowary feathers stuck in clay across top of head. "W"-shaped scarifications incised around navel and across back at waist. Cowrie shell eyes. Twisted fiber with tassels at waist, wrists, neck, nose and ears. Crack in base and up into left foot. |
