Description | Cooking pot (olla) with a globular body, flaring collar, rounded rim, 2 strap handles on the collar to body, and a rounded base. No molded/modeled additions. The vessel has raised bumps all over the body and two raised snakes. The pot has raised bumps all over the body and two raised snakes painted with white stripes. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is orange in color. Evidence of usewear includes soot on the exterior and black staining on the interior. The catalogue number is written on the interior of the collar. No other numbers are visible on the object. |
