Description | red ware. Upper part of a painted jug which had one vertical loop handle. Fragment. No molded/modeled additions. The vessel is painted with geometric designs in red, orange, white, and black. There appears to be a burnished finish on the exterior and a smoothed finish on the interior. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is orange in color. The catalogue number is written on the interior. Black ink on the interior of the fragment reads: "315F." |
