Description | Complete but for some large new chips from rim. Underfloor slightly concave; base slightly flaring and hollow. Body ovoid joining smoothly into a wide short straight-sided neck. Rim trefoil with flaring thin short lip. Handle a flat vertical band from back of trefoil to greatest diameter. Thin black/red glaze from inside lip (carelessly applied) down exterior to just below greatest diameter. Glaze popped off where attacked by salts. Ware thin; clay fine, well smoothed. Micaceous. Fired dull buff to pinkish. |
