Description

Kamfang or Kumfang. A skirt worn by women. Cotton warp-faced plain weave with alternating float weave. Collected in India and thought to be Ao Naga. Current scholarship suggests the piece is from the Chin people (Thado Group). One thin vertical stripes in gold and red at each end. One broad horizontal band at the top and bottom with gold, red, white and dark blue striping. Made from two panels, joined in the center. Two ties at either end.
