Description | Tomb 2B = Herscher Tomb 802B. Red polished III jug with round spout. Incomplete. Light brown to yellow clay with thin light gray interior, large black inclusions. Thick crackled dark red-brown slip. Round base, ovoid body; tall conical neck, round spout, flaring rim; vertical handle, rectangular in section, from lower neck to upper body; small vertical handle, rectangular in section, at neckline opposite large handle. Relief decoration: horizontal impressed bands, three on upper body, two groups of three on neck, two vertical below large handle; incised hatching preserved on handle. |
