Description | Fine bucchero oinochoe. Short, flaring ring foot, flat undersurface. Ovoid body. Long neck with flaring rim. Two protuberances on rim, one on either side of handle; strap handle attached at lip and shoulder. Decoration: Triangles incised with doubled-lines, beginning at foot and pointing upwards. Where the triangles reach their points, there is a horizontal double-groove. Above this is a zone of striations, ending at another double-groove where the shoulder begins. On the shoulder are horizontal fans formed of dots. There is moulding at the junction between neck and shoulder. Burnishing visible on exterior and upper interior of rim. Wheel marks visible on interior. Missing part of the rim where the spout would be. Very similar to MS 1347. |
