Description | Pyxis lid fragment. Rim fragment of flat-flanged pyxis lid. Hard, buff clay. Underside unglazed. Top surface covered with cream colored slip. Around the outer edge is a zone formed by two wheel-painted purple lines in which are a silhouetted goose and horse advancing to right. On inner edge are two points of rays. "Heraeum" in pencil on under surface. |
