| Description | In the shape of a fish with wide neck on the back. Wide mouthed vessel with an effigy-zoomorphic body, flaring collar, outward sloping rim, no handles, and a flat base. The vessel is in the shape of a fish with a rear fin, fins or bumps on the sides, a nose, eyes, and mouth. The pot is painted with traces of red paint remaining. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is buff in color. Fireclouding is present on the base. The catalogue number is written on the bottom of the base and black ink on the bottom of the base reads: "1599." |
