Description | Face surmounted by bird, with beak at top, feet and tail on forehead, wings outspread. Projecting conical eyes on round discs. Nose with long thin bridge and curved nostrils. Mouth a small incised arc. "Moustaches". Nose ornament carved in low relief. Notched border outside that, with carved circles flanked by crescents both sides. Carved ovals, crescents, etc., also on head and back of bird. Mostly black. Somewhat chipped, with traces of white (e.g., rings around eyes and on cheeks, spirals on nose ornament). |
