Description | Plain. Globular body; tulip neck with small opening; two vertical loop handles on body. Narrow-necked jar/bottle with a globular body, bulging neck, rounded rim, 2 strap handles on the body, and a flat base. There are no molded/modeled additions and no decoration. There appears to be a burnished finish on the exterior. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is brown and gray in color. Evidence of usewear includes surface attrition on the bottom/base. The catalogue number is written on the bottom of the base and black ink on the bottom of the base reads: "1916." |
