Description | Fine bucchero oinochoe. Short, flaring ring foot, flat undersurface. Ovoid body. Long neck with flaring rim. Slight indentation for spout, two protuberances on rim, one on either side of handle; strap handle attached at lip and shoulder. Decoration: Triangles incised with doubled-lines, beginning at foot and pointing upwards. Where the triangles reach their points, there is a horizontal double-groove. Above this is a zone of striations, ending at another double-groove where the shoulder begins. On the shoulder are horizontal fans formed of dots. There is moulding at the junction between neck and shoulder. Very similar to MS 1348. |
