Description | Four joining fragments - with a Greek inscription. Part of rim and shoulder of large pithos, four joining fragments. Below the molded rim an inscription in Greek incised in clay while clay was still soft. Beneath this, two rows of small impressed circles and two wheel-run lines, and at bottom of fragment part of a triangular arrangement of impressed circles. Ex-voto of a potter Polyktetos, Son of Timon, to Apollo Hylates and Apollo Caesar. |
