Description | Pottery. Body tapering to flat base; flaring neck; two vertical loop handles on body. Painted with frogs Narrow-necked jar/bottle with an ovate body, flaring neck, rounded rim, 2 strap handles on the body, and a flat base. No molded/modeled additions. The vessel is painted with bands of horizontal designs in white, red, and black. The central band has a "frog" design. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is orange and gray in color. Fireclouding is present on the body. The catalogue number is written on the bottom of the base. No other numbers are visible on the object. |
