The painted band closest to the rim has stylized animals in red, dark purple, black, and white. There appears to be a burnished finish on the exterior and a burnished finish on the interior. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is orange in color. Fireclouding is present on the body.
