Description

Black-on-Red jug; Complete; not mended; thin fragile fabric; slip and paint worn and flaking. Orange-red fabric with dark gray core; Dark brown matt paint. Ring base; depressed ovoid body with greatest diameter at shoulder; narrow straight-sided neck; flaring pinched rim; vertical handle from rim to shoulder. Rim painted with thin outlining band; double wavy line encircling upper neck; band encircling base of neck; multiple thin bands encircling shoulder; 4 sets of multiple concentric circles on body with outer circle thicker than inner ones; framed vertical zig-zag pattern on handle.
