Description | Decorated on both sides with glaze designs. On the exterior there is a checkerboard pattern and beside it two broad glazed lines diverge at a moderate angle. On the interior heavy lines of glaze outline a "wasp-waisted figure" (so to speak). Within the "figure" are parallel thinner lines. Reddish buff, substantial clay. The surfaces are well polished, the interior fired nearly white and the exterior pale red. |
