Description | Male figure, clay on fernwood palm. Pig tusks coming from corner of mouth. Painted. Used in the circumcision rite as a symbol of the impending ceremony, placed in the dance ground prior to the circumcision act. Placed in the dance ground the previous night, circumcision takes place the next morning after night of dancing (group symbol). Note: Namba placed on erect penis during dancing to hide fact that glans is showing. Item name: Nagambau |
