Description | "Chinook" or "Southern Sea-going type". Pointed ends, prow projecting forward and upward, stern vertical and raised above level of gunwales. Groove for whaling harpoon on top of prow. Shape of prow suggests animal's head. Unpainted. -359 has slanted ridges on either side of harpoon rest gouge where level of prow meets slightly lower level of gunwales. |
