Description | Human figure from just below waist up. Short pole of wood projects centrally beneath trunk and is nailed to a longer pointed pole (as if for placing in ground) Figure constricted at waist, outstretched arms nailed on, fingers and thumb curled around circular space (as if meant to hold something), face very pointed A little cedar bark caught to back of head by a long metal nail or clamp probably was applied for mending crack. Red and black markings on face including a double row of black dots on cheeks. Hands painted red with some traces of black. Whole piece badly cracked and "eaten" in places. |
