Face-neck vessel. Narrow-necked jug with a globular body, flaring neck, rounded rim, 1 strap handle extending from the neck to the body, and a rounded base. The vessel is red slipped with white and black painted decoration. The features of the face including eyes, nose, mouth, and ear spools, are added applique pieces of clay. The face is painted white and outlined in black and there is a necklace and two arms painted on the body in white and black. There appears to be a smoothed finish on the exterior. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is orange in color. Fireclouding is present on the body. The catalogue number is written in black ink on the interior of neck. Black ink on the interior of neck reads: "3094."
