Description | CBS Register: terracotta figurine, fragment. Beltis. PBS XVI: nude woman with clasped hands. She wears a remarkable headdress and a veil covering neck and shoulders to the elbow. The gauze material is embroidered with beads or metal paillettes in eight rows. The turban has two lines of ornaments indicated by hatchings. Curls of hair line the forehead. Wavy masses fall on the shoulders. The bird-like head had pellet eyes, a pinched nose, no mouth and a thick neck. |
