Description | Barkcloth anvil or beater board (totua) of pewa wood. Used with beaters in production of bark cloth. Very old. Rotting ends (about 12 cm. on each side) cut off by owner before it was acquired by collector. A set with beaters 87-8-38/42, used for children's practice or stored as extras - the family still produces barkcloth for blankets and skirts. |
