Description | Sack alabastron with wide flattish base, baggy body, flaring echinus lip. Powdery greenish white clay. Surface reserved. Decoration in black glaze and red paint, mostly fugitive. Top of lip: ray pattern, points out. Body: only a lion can be identified with any confidence, possibly a bird opposite. Figures with some incision. Traces of tongues on base. |
