Description | Flat, wooden Katsina cradle doll. The face is painted white with red lines indicating hair and red circles under the eyes. The eyes and mouth are "U" shaped with a circle in the center of each. The back of the head is painted black. The body is painted white and red with yellow and faded blue arms. This figure is the Mother of Katsinam, Hahai-i Wuhti. (Colton, H. 1959 #44, Wright, B., 1973 #60) |
