Description | Ivory; man's head and eye. "Part of a panel depicting a man facing right. He has straight hair held by a fillet, lozenge-oval eyes, S-shaped ears, thick lips, prominent sharp nose, and apparently a beard. An object in front of the face appears to be a bull's foot; if so, this must be a bull-man. The plain lower and the left and right edges, raised bands, are intact; there is also a raised band that marked off an upper section, mostly missing. The body of the man was completed on a separate panel. A small dowel hole exists above the horizontal band and two larger ones flank the head. The surface is worn from use." |
